Friday Sermon: Let's All Repent from Sin and Turn to Allah!, By Murtadha Gusau

Dear Muslims! Repentance is when the sinner and those who fail, and all of us are sinners and fail, turn to their Lord with a broken heart and humbled limbs. And his condition and his words express: Oh Lord, I have no other lord but You who accept my repentance, no one is able to forgive me if You do not forgive me, and no one can have mercy on me if you don't. have mercy on me, O Lord of the worlds.

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Giver of Mercy

All praise is due to Allah, the forgiver of sins and the acceptor of repentance and severe in punishment.

Dear brothers and sisters! Allah Almighty said:

"And those who, when they commit immorality or wrong themselves [by transgression], remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who can forgive sins except Allah? – and [who] do not persist in what they have done though they know.[Quran, 3:135]

Respected brothers and sisters! Indeed, repentance heals hearts sickened by wrongdoing. Repentance is the doorway to hope. Repentance is an open door. Repentance is hot flowing tears. Allah Almighty says:

"[O Muhammad], inform My servants that I am the Forgiving, the Merciful." [Quran, 15:49]

Glory be to Allah, The Forgiving, Most Merciful. He is the most generous but His servants disobey Him. He watches over them, protects them and safeguards them as if they were not disobeying him.

Allah is the One who answers the supplication of the supplicant. Allah answers whoever asks. And Allah is the hope of hopes.

Great servants of Allah! Why do we repent? We repent because Allah has commanded repentance. Allah Almighty said:

"And repent to Allah, all of you, O believers, that you may succeed." [Quran, 24:31]

We repent because Allah loves those who constantly repent, those who return to Him, and those who ask for forgiveness. We repent so that our Lord may rejoice over us. We repent because Allah Almighty has said:

"And he who does not repent - then they are the wrongdoers." [Quran, 49:11]

We repent because our ladder is going to be displayed before our eyes on the Day of Resurrection. Our good deeds will be put on one side, and our bad deeds will be put on the other side. And good deeds will not tip the balance except through sincere repentance that erases bad deeds.
