This is madness. Rooms at Lost Property - 145 in number - cost over £200 without breakfast and most cost around £400. Many of these rooms, regardless of category, have frosted windows.
No natural light, made worse by the fact that I'm staying on the ground floor floor.
While checking in - and before being confronted by the frosted windows - I hear screams coming from the bar/restaurant and I guess it's karaoke night here at Lost Property almost opposite St Paul's Cathedral, just up the road from Fleet Street in London.
"We have live music tonight," the receptionist says - and then she agrees with me that it's a terrible noise.
"I'm so sorry but they finish at 9pm," she said.

While inspecting my spooky £200 basement room — which find it equipped for people with reduced mobility — I ask to see the manager on duty.
'I like the room, actually,' says her.
"Can I cancel and go somewhere else?", I ask.
'It will not be possible because you have exceeded the deadline for cancellations.'
So I'm stuck in this Hilton Collection by Curio non- sense,...
