Governor Sani provides security for corps members in Kaduna

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State assured members of the corps that their safety and well-being were properly taken into account in the state security arrangements and budget.

The Governor, who was represented by Stephen Joseph, Permanent Secretary of the Department of Social Services and Social Development, at the swearing-in ceremony for Corps members on Friday, assured his government had unwavering faith in the program .

Governor Sani said his government is firmly committed to providing the enabling environment necessary to maintain the viability of the program and ensure the safety and well-being of corps members.

He insisted that safety of life and property is a top priority in the state, ensuring members of the corps have a conducive environment to make their stay in the state worthwhile.

While charging members of the corps to engage in the progress and development of Kaduna State and the nation at large, Governor Sani said, “Together we can build bridges of understanding, of unity, empowering communities and living a lasting legacy of positive change."

Mr. Hassan Kaura, the NYSC State Coordinator, had previously reminded corps members that discipline is one of the key watchwords of the program and urged them to exercise discipline and ensure that they respect the values ​​for which the program represents during and after the orientation course.

About 858 corps members of the first batch of 2023 have started their one-year mandatory national service under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Kaduna.
