Opening arguments have begun in the latest sexual assault trial of disgraced former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

A severely impaired Weinstein, reportedly in declining health, is back in Los Angeles and incarcerated in a jail cell, on trial for rape and sexual assault.

This court case follows Weinstein York's conviction for other sex crimes, although that case is on appeal.

He denies ever having non-consensual sex with anyone.

Assistant District Attorney Paul Thomson said in court Monday that eight women who were allegedly attacked by Weinstein would testify.

He cited Weinstein's accusers, saying the One recalled the alleged assault: "Part of me thought I should just run away, but he's a big guy."

Another alleged victim said, "I was afraid that if I didn't play well, something might happen in the room or out of the room at because of his power in the industry," the prosecutor told the court.
