According to the governor, "Zaki LGA was the only local government area where I won my 2019 gubernatorial elections by 100% out of the 20 LGAs in the state. And I also called the locals from Zaki to double it this time by voting PDP from top to bottom."

In his words: "With due respect and consideration for other LGAs, I didn't mean to put the other 19 LGAs down, but that's the truth and it's also in reality. People voted for us and we have to compensate them, that's why I chose your son as my running mate."

The Governor then called on residents of Gamawa and Zaki local government areas to vote overwhelmingly for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate in the upcoming general elections.
