I disguised myself as a woman to escape the indoctrination of Boko Haram – Father DMW
Nigerian comedian Muhammadu Bashir Abdulai, popularly known as Father DMW, has recounted how he disguised himself as a woman to escape from his hometown, Maiduguri, Borno State, to Lagos to avoid being indoctrinated by the terrorist group Boko Haram.
He said the terrorists were on a rampage, forcing and arming young men to join their group, but he escaped after disguising himself as a hijab-wearing woman.
Father DMW revealed this in a recent interview with Vanzu TV.
The Instagram celebrity said the terrorists slaughtered any young man who refused to join the cult.
He said that upon arriving in Lagos he became a cyclist and his fame came from the famous singer Davido, for whom he ran errands.
Speaking in Pidgin English, he said, "Boko Haram, go ahead and kill everyone. Like me, if they see me they just give me a gun, if I never follow them, now they will start killing me.
"When they came in, I'm wearing the hijab like a woman. Putting on makeup, putting on boobs, y*nsh, anything to get away from it all. Because if they know you're a man, if they're wearing that hijab, no, shoot them, go shoot you, nah knife, they'll cut you."
