He claimed that Osun was more economically stable than he encountered in 2018, saying that despite all the visible socio-economic challenges the state was facing with its side effects, he was able to take support the fears and evil of fiscal indiscipline and lack of enforcement, which has hampered the nation's public service projects and services.

The statement quoting Oyetola reads in part: "As I step down today (Sunday) after the end of the four-year term you freely bestowed on me, I thank God and thank you for your support , your cooperation and your prayers for the years.

"I remember how the journey began four years ago; how by your faith in me and your belief in the plans and programs of our party, you exercised your right to vote for me. As we close our first term, rest assured that Osun is more economically stable than we encountered in 2018 and has remained the most peaceful state in the country under our leadership.

“For four years, we had no bank credit. budget support and wage bailout facility that the previous administration had access to, just as we paid off N97 billion of the total debt we inherited in 2018.

“We are leaving over N14 billion naira behind. In addition to N14 billion in cash, a further N8 billion is expected between December and January through our performance in SFTAS and internally generated revenue. Besides, another $72 million will soon come to the state from RAMP 3, NG-CARES, Nigeria for Women Project and Ease of Doing Business. These are earned based on performance.
