I will correct the injustice of past administrations - Adeleke

New Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has said he will correct the injustice of any past administration in the state.

Adeleke made this known in his speech at his inauguration in Oshogbo on Sunday.

1. Today, I stand on the podium of history with a sacred promise to God and the good people of Osun State that my intellect, passion and strength will be devoted only to the well-being, to the peace and security of our people.

2. As I accept the mantle of leadership entrusted to me by the people of our dear State, I am aware of the enormous challenges and responsibilities that lie ahead of me and will begin from this hour to work day and night with deep sense of purpose to be a servant to all of you.

3. Our gathering here to witness the materialization of a new era is no accident of history. We are all programmed by Almighty God to be what we have been, are and will be in the future.

4. Let me take this opportunity to salute the founding fathers of our beloved state, all former administrators and governors of Osun State as well as all those who have contributed in one way or another to the growth , the stability and progress of our state over the past 31 months. years.

5. I also salute our fallen heroes both nationally and at the state level for the great sacrifice they made to have a country and a state that belong to us.

6. I am well aware that my responsibility as Governor and Chief Security Officer of Osun State is to meet the legitimate expectations of our people. Therefore, I promise that these expectations of workers, merchants, artisans, farmers, business owners, students, retirees, traditional and religious leaders and indeed all residents of the State of Osun will be satisfied by the grace of God and the cooperation of all.< /p>

7. Under my leadership as Governor of Osun State, I will boldly correct any past injustices, acts of corruption or policies of any previous administration that are contrary to the collective interest of our people.

8. Let me say here that from the sector of education, health, mining, agriculture, road infrastructure and drinking water supply, let everyone know that business will no longer be as usually. And I repeat, it's not business as usual.

9. Our administration will demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, transparency, justice and innovation in tackling and solving the problems of poverty, illiteracy, disease and poor infrastructure.

10. Your governor will be a governor of the people. I will be approachable, responsive, consultative and proactive in dealing with small and large state governance issues.

11. I know that as a product of the collective will of you my people, there is a heavy weight of history on my shoulders and I accept the urgency of your expectations, the depth of your aspirations and your belief in me to build a better state.

DEVELOPMENT AGENDA FOR OSUN STATE

12. Ladies and gentlemen, you will recall that our party, the Peoples Democratic Party, campaigned on a five-point platform, namely:

a. Well-being of workers and retirees;

b. Stimulate the state economy

c. Local infrastructure policy;

d. People-centred policy on education, affordable health care, security and social protection;

e. Agriculture-based industrialization for wealth and job creation.

13. While a detailed action program will soon be unveiled on each of these five points, allow me to give you a quick overview of our political direction.
