Inter midfielder Gagliardini hints at big hint about San Siro summer exit

Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini looks set to leave San Siro at the end of the season after claiming he needs more regular football.

The 28-year-old former Atalanta player, capped by Italy, has started just two Serie A games this season with the Nerazzurri.

One of them came on Sunday when he helped Simone Inzaghi's side win 1-0 against Hellas Verona, playing the entire match.

Gagliardini has been absent from the bench six times in the Italian top flight this season but is keen for a bigger and more consistent involvement which will likely mean his future lies elsewhere.

He was praised by coach Inzaghi on Saturday, praised for an 'excellent' performance, but Gagliardini's contract expires at the end of the campaign and all signs point to parting ways in the Italian summer.< /p>

Bergamo-born Gagliardini told Sky Sport: "I don't want to have that playing time anymore. I'm 28 and I want to prove a lot of things.

"I'm more ready than a few years ago, because those years have seen great growth for me, in my mind and in reacting to difficult times, so in June I will make my decisions."

Gagliardini won Serie A with Inter two years ago, but played only a minor role in that success, starting four times and coming off the bench nine times.

Responding to his player's comments, Inzaghi told a press conference: "The important thing is that he does well on the pitch.

"He is well liked by all, he is a serious professional who works very well. He had a few minor problems over the last year, but he always gritted his teeth, guaranteeing his contribution."
