IPAC asks Ayade to reshuffle his cabinet

The Cross River State Interparty Advisory Council (IPAC) has called on Governor Ben Ayade to immediately reconstitute his cabinet.

IAPC also urged the governor to make deliberate efforts to recruit proven technocrats into strategic ministries.

The state's umbrella body for all political parties made the call in a statement, signed by its state chairman, Tony Bissong, and released after their general assembly on Tuesday evening.

The communiqué underlines that the gap created by the dismissal and resignation of some commissioners in key ministries such as finance, health, water resources and information has left a clear administrative vacuum which must be filled with all emergency.

It should be recalled that on May 20 last year, when the governor defected to join the ruling party, the APC, some of his commissioners and officials resigned from his cabinet.

Others have also resigned recently to pursue political ambitions.

The association also called on the State House of Assembly to speed up the implementation of government policies.

“We call on the Cross River State Assembly to intensify its oversight functions to check redundancy in ministries, departments and agencies,” he said.
