Kishan took just 126 balls to reach 200, beating the previous record for men's and women's cricket held by New Zealand's Amelia Kerr.

Kerr reached the 134-ball mark against Ireland in 2018.

West Indies fly-half Chris Gayle held the previous men's record, taking 138 deliveries against Zimbabwe in 2015.

This is only the ninth time that a batter hit a double ton in the men's ODIs, with Kishan the fifth highest scorer, while the 24-year-old is also the youngest man to achieve the feat.

He hit 24 fours and 10 sixes in his superb shot of 131 balls, sharing a 290 second wicket partnership with Virat Kohli - seventh highest in Men's O DI history.

It was Kohli's 44th ODI ton and 72nd in any format, putting him ahead of former Australia captain Ricky Ponting in second position for the most international hundreds. Only Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar has more, with 100.

Bangladesh has never threatened in the pursuit and was eventually knocked out for 182 of 34 overs to lose by 227 runs.

However, the Tigers had already secured the series after wins in the first two ODIs.

Both sides now move on to a series of two tests, which begins in Chittagong on Wednesday.
