The Kano State Pilgrim Welfare Board has confirmed the death of a pilgrim, Sani Idris-Muhammed, in Saudi Arabia during the 2022 Hajj.

State Pilgrims Welfare Board Executive Secretary Alhaji Muhammed Abba-Danbatta revealed this to reporters on Saturday.

He said Idris-Muhammed, a native of Madobi local government area, died on Saturday after a brief illness at a general hospital in Makkah.

"The deceased was buried according to Islamic rites in the grand courtyard mosque Masjid Haram Shira in Makkah," he said.

Abba-Danbatta prayed for the deceased and consoled his family.
