Lagos guber: LP's Rhodes-Vivour clarifies being backed by sponsors

The Labor Party, LP, candidate for governor in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has denied claims that he was pressured into running for office by some sponsors.

The LP gubernatorial candidate was responding to the People's Democratic Party's assertion, PDP gubernatorial candidate Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, also known as Jandor, who said on Tuesday that his counterpart of the LP was backed by godfathers such as chef Bode George. .

Appearing on Arise Television on Thursday morning, Rhodes-Vivour said: "In the Labor Party there is no godfather. I have no godfather.

"I didn't have a sponsor at PDP. I only had mentors and leaders [Jandor accusing me of having a sponsor] it's very ironic.

“There were rumors of embezzlement. The money for the rally, for the elections. The story he brought to get the ticket was that he would bring half of the APC to add to the PDP.

"That was history. But all are back to APC now. Where's the value?

"He got the ticket because all the party leaders nationally, from Ayu, even Obasanjo supported him. And now that things have turned around, he's talking about sponsorship."
