People's Democratic Party presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar said on Saturday that his administration, if elected as Nigeria's next president, would end the insecurity plaguing the southeastern part of the country.

Atiku, who spoke in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, at the PDP presidential campaign rally in the state, said his administration would give the Igbo people a sense of belonging.

The former vice president said his administration would engage with Igbo youth, especially on the issue of restructuring and unifying all regions of the country.

According to him, he was the only presidential candidate who had the experience of unifying the country and saving it from the bad governance that he said had become the lot of the nation under the watch of the All Progressives Congress.

He said, "If I become the next president, consider Imo in charge of the presidency. It's your own presidency. I'm going to come here, sit with you, and work out an arrangement. I have been associated with the Igbo Nation for many decades Trade will resume in the South East I will allocate $10 billion to empower youth, women and men in business We will provide jobs and companies.

"The entire south-east aspires to the restructuring of this country. I will see that the power and the means are devolved to the unifying units. I assure you that. I swear to God, I will do it again because I I have experience. Do not vote for any party other than the PDP.

“Honestly, I am impressed with the turnout in Imo State. My fellow Imo State people, God bless you all and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

A former governor of the state, Achike Udenwa, urged the people of the state to vote for the PDP.

The national party secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, who is an indigene of the state, said that Atiku will win in the state.

Sokoto State Governor and PDP Presidential Campaign Council Director General Aminu Tambuwal Says Atiku Administration Will End Insecurity, Poverty and Bad Governance allegedly caused by the APC administration.

Governor of Akwa Ibom State and Chairman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Udom Emmanuel, said the PDP administration would restore sanity to the government.

Former state governor Emeka Ihedioha said that the people of the state would vote for Atiku.
