Leeds drafted to Garcia to fight relegation
February 22 - Spain manager Javi Garcia has a second chance to lead the Premier League after being signed by Leeds United as a replacement for Jesse Marsch.
Garcia (pictured) had a previous stint at Watford from 2018-19, keeping the side in England's top flight in consecutive seasons before being fired after 20 months in charge.
>It took more than two weeks for Leeds to replace Marsch, who was sacked on February 6 after less than a year following poor form that left the club in a relegation battle. p>
Garcia, 52, has been out of a job since leaving Qatari side Al Sadd in June and signing what Leeds described as a 'flexible' contract.
Leeds last won a game in the Premier League on November 5 and are 19th in the table, just one point and one place above Southampton.
Garcia's first game in charge couldn't be more important: a six-pointer against Southampton on Saturday, provided he gets a work permit in time.
