The remaining members of Little Mix had to follow therapy after Jesy Nelson's accident. exit, revealed Leigh-Anne Pinnock in her memoir.
In an extract published in the Sun, the singer described the departure of her former bandmate as a "traumatic".
"It was all abrupt and sad, and then it was complicated," she wrote in her new book Believe.
Jesy left the three-time Brit Award-winning band in 2020, saying band life was taking a toll on her mental health.
Opening up about the time, Leigh-Anne said: "We were family, the four of us were like sisters, and we had been that way since we were teenagers , so it's not too much- It's an exaggeration to say that losing a limb was a traumatic experience.
"When you felt so much love and support with another person for so long and suddenly disappears, you never really understand why it hurts."
She said she was turned to therapy following the departure of Jesy, along with bandmates Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwell, adding "we moved on to something even brighter and stronger".
