Lionel Messi beats Kylian Mbappe wins another prestigious award [Top 10 winners]

Argentina superstar Lionel Messi beat Paris Saint-Germain teammate Kylian Mbappe, Max Verstappen, Stephen Curry and other top stars to win the Champions League title.

The prize was awarded by the famous French sports newspaper L'Equipe.

This is the very first time that Lionel Messi has won the award after his success with Argentina at FIFA 2022 in Qatar.

In the standings, Messi overtook Mbappe with a whopping 808 points to the Frenchman's distant 381.

Mbappe was followed by tennis legend, Rafael Nadal, who came third with 285 points, with Belgian cyclist Remco Evenopoel taking fourth.

F1 superstar Max Verstappen takes fifth place.
