Lokoja flood: Power Oil and Indomie Noodles collaborate to show love to displaced residents

Power Oil and Indomie Noodles recently collaborated to visit camps occupied by displaced people affected by the Lokoja flood, donating relief materials to help cushion the effects of the disaster.

This humanitarian exercise was carried out with the support of the wife of the Inspector General of Nigeria, Hajiya Hajara Usman Alkali Baba, and with the participation of the Office of the First Lady of Kogi State, Hajiya Rashida Yahaya Bello.

Authorities say the floods followed persistent rains, the release of water from the Ladgo dam in Cameroon that caused rivers to flow Niger and Benue overflow causing death while rendering many others homeless and unable to find means of survival on their own.

The flood disaster caused endless suffering. Many people lost their lives in the floods, many lost their homes, their livelihoods. “We mourn with all those who have suffered terrible losses as a result of this disaster. And we have the utmost respect for the efforts of the state government and security personnel to try to restore normalcy, which which we all understand can take a while,” said Valerie Amakulor, Brand Manager, Power Oil.

It is generally understood how such a brutal event can leave victims disorganized with little hope of survival in the days to come, however, physiological and safety needs remain open to fill and the most essential, which shows the logic behind the choice of items do born by brands, ranging from Food Articles (i.e. Power Oil pure vegetable cooking oil, Indomie noodles, Dano milk, Kellogg's cereal, Goodlife fruit drinks) body and feminine care (i.e. Kotex sanitary napkins, Irish Spring bath soap, Colgate toothpaste, toothbrush ) and other necessities (i.e. T-shirts, Hypo bleach).
