Makinde meets with stakeholders in Ogbomoso, say people solidly behind PDP

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde said he was confident the people of the Ogbomoso area strongly supported his re-election bid. Makinde, who expressed his confidence after holding consultative and public meetings with People's Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders in the Ogbomoso area, said the reactions during the meetings held at Lagbami Osekun Hall, the seat of the council Local Ogbomoso South, Arowomole and the Soun Ogunlola Hall, Ogbomoso, Wednesday and yesterday were encouraging.

The governor, who urged the Ogbomoso electorate to re-elect him to take advantage of sustainable development, which is the mantra of Omituntun 2.0, promised to continue working on the development demands of each area of ​​the State according to the resources at its disposal.

Makinde, while speaking at the stakeholders meeting at Lagbami Osekun Hall, Ogbomoso, said the essence of the meeting was to resolve the internal crises in the area ahead of the elections.

Also speaking at the Town Hall meeting venue in Ogunlola Hall, the Governor maintained that all demands made by the people, including the appointment of a new Soun of Ogbomoso, would be addressed. He said, however, that due process would be followed when appointing the next Soun.

The governor also took the opportunity of the meeting to reimburse the nomination fees of all the aspirants who lost in the 2023 National and State Assembly elections, as he did in the Oyo area, while announcing the immediate approval of the furniture allocation for local state council officials.

According to the governor, 50% of the money will be paid out immediately, while the balance will be paid out in January.

Meanwhile, students at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, yesterday praised Makinde for suspending the institution's no-tuition and no-exam policy.
