Manchester United beat Leicester City 1-0 in Thursday's Premier League game.

Man United won three in a row as Jadon Sancho's first strike sealed a 1-0 win and lifted Erik ten Hag's side to fifth while Brendan Rodgers' side remained at the bottom of the table.

Sancho showed great composure against Leicester goalkeeper Danny Ward.

Leicester responded after the first-half break as seemed necessary, after a flat first-half performance under Brendan Rodgers, and James Maddison closed in.

But United made changes late to shut it down, bringing in Casemiro and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo, who would now stay at United when the transfer window closes, had missed two chances but the result lifted Ten Hag's side to fifth in the table.

Jadon Sancho, speaking to BT Sport, said: "It was a great team goal and I'm happy to get the three points for the team.

"I got to know the players better after missing pre-season last year and I'm really happy to score.

"We were hoping to start the season with two wins but it woke us up and I'm happy to get the third win today."
