The Department of State Security Services confirmed the raid on Kaduna's residence and the office of the terrorists' negotiator, Tukur Mamu.

Mamu is the negotiator between the government and the terrorists who attacked the Kaduna-Abuja train on March 28, 2022 and kidnapped many people as hostages.

The PUNCH reports that Mamu's house was raided at midnight on Thursday.

Confirming the raid in a statement on Thursday, DSS spokesman Peter Afunanya said, "So far, the appropriate security agencies have executed valid search warrants at Mamu's residence and office. During the processes, compromising materials, including military equipment, were recovered.

"Other items include large amounts in various currencies and denominations as well as financial transaction instruments."

Afunaya noted that Mamu would be brought to justice.

“While other investigations continue, Mamu will certainly have a day in court,” the DSS spokesperson said.

The officers who searched Mamu's residence had ransacked every nook and cranny of the house and allegedly took away laptops, phones and documents.

Sources previously claimed that nothing incriminating was found in either Mamu's residence or office.

According to sources, as many as 50 heavily armed members of Toyota Hilux, Toyota Highlander as well as military vehicles raided both the residence and the office.

Mamu, who is the publisher of the Desert Herald Newspaper, was arrested in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday by foreign security agencies on his way to Saudi Arabia and handed over to Nigerian authorities on Wednesday. .
