Crowd kills suspected motorbike thief in Osun

A mob killed a notorious motorbike thief in the Ilesa area of ​​Osun State.

Yemisi Opalola, police spokesperson in Osun, said in a statement that the body of the deceased was removed after being found on the Ijebu-Jesa road on Sunday (today).

"Today around 8:30 a.m., the police received information that a Loni 'm', surname unknown, was found dead in Iretiayo, along the Ijebu-Jesa Ilesa road.

"The investigation revealed that the deceased, who during his lifetime was a thief specializing in theft of motorcycles in Ilesa, was killed by a mob while trying to steal a motorcycle parked on the side of the road .

"A team of police detectives who attended the scene, took photos of the body and evacuated it.

"The corpse was later deposited in the morgue at Wesley Guild Hospital in Ilesa," she said

Ms Opalola, however, said no suspects have yet been arrested and a preliminary investigation is underway.
