NDE begins three-month skills acquisition training for Ekiti youth

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has launched a three-month skills acquisition program as part of its Environmental Beautification Training Program (EBTS) for no less than thirty young people in the 16 Local Government Areas of Ekiti State.

Speaking at the launch of the program in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, NDE Managing Director Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo noted that the program is part of the government's commitment and will federal government to create employment opportunities for young people in abundance. in the country.

Represented by the State Coordinator, Emmanuel Ojo, the DG explained that the skills acquisition training would be divided into three categories namely; hard landscape, soft landscape and plaster of Paris (POP), adding that trainers had been hired by the agency for the success of the device.

He advised the recipients to be dedicated and show a willingness to acquire the skills during the duration of the training, saying it would go a long way to help them stay afloat in the society economically amid the lack increasing job opportunities.< /p>

He said acquiring skills is key to the economic prosperity and socio-economic development of the country due to the lack of white-collar jobs, noting that only those with the relevant skills will remain relevant and will be able to survive.

According to him, “We are witnessing another strategic tool used by the management to fulfill its mandate and mission of creating jobs for all as we allocate program beneficiaries to various trainings under the EBTS with the aim of promoting self-sufficiency which, in turn, generates a significant multiplier effect through the creation of direct and indirect wealth."

“The essence of this program is to instill in recipients the technical knowledge and expertise necessary to remain relevant in their various areas of vocation and the entrepreneurial skills required to thrive regardless of economic news.< /p>

"I therefore use this grace to urge my favored beneficiaries of today's event to demonstrate a high sense of commitment coupled with an unquenchable thirst for excellence to ensure that the effort of the Federal Government of Nigeria through the NDE on the job creation is not in vain."

Speaking, the State Governor's Special Advisor on Human Capital Development, Gbenga Agbeyo, who was represented by Dr. Israel Osundare, commended NDE in its efforts to provide opportunities for the youth of the State.

While reiterating the importance of skill building in any society for financial prosperity, he urged participants to commit to building a career for themselves through the program.

Recipients who praised the NDE for the training said they would do their utmost to take full advantage of it and become employers of labor with the relevant skills they would acquire through the training.
