Northern Ireland aiming for success with TV and film productions

The fact that Blade Runner 2099, a television series based on the films, s era shot in No rthern Ireland, was seen as a huge vote of confidence in the Northern Ireland screen industry.

But this n is just the latest in a long line of high-profile hits.

Production follows in the footsteps of TV hits like Game of Thrones and Line of Duty, as well as films such as The Northman - all of which were filmed in Ireland Northern Ireland.

And according to Northern Ireland Screen, more are on the way.

"I'm very hopeful and expect there will be at least one more big announcement in the next few months," NI Screen chief executive Richard Williams told BBC News NI.

"Northern Ireland Screen has supported projects which combined over £1 billion in production budget over the past four years,” Mr Williams said. and services in Northern Ireland."
