Nthenya Mwendwa: How the Oscars changed the life of a Kenyan designer

Mwendwa bags are available for celebrities to take in a so-called "gift suite". At these events, products are displayed in hotel rooms and stars are invited to choose for free.
The hope is that they will endorse the brand or even wear items on the red carpet.
The 37-year-old's luxury bags have already been chosen, but Mwendwa has never been to Hollywood to see all the glitz and glamor for herself.
A partnership last year between the Kenyan government and an Oscar giveaway company led to the presentation of his designs.
One of his creations was chosen by award-winning American actress Viola Davis.
