Oluwo backs Adeleke on LG autonomy
Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, hailed Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke's resolve to allow Local Government Areas in the state to enjoy autonomy .
This was in a statement signed by Oba Akanbi obtained Monday in Osogbo.
Oba Akanbi, who also noted that Adeleke's decision to open the state books to the royal fathers at their monthly meeting was commendable. He also said the move indicated that the governor recognizes the important role monarchs play in managing the affairs of the state.
The statement further reads in several parts: "I don't know where he got the wisdom to have a meeting with the traditional institution to begin his administration, but I know it must be divine wisdom from God. He leaves on a good note for the recognition of the traditional institution.
"Similarly, the governor deserves another kudos for his pledge to grant autonomy to local governments in Osun State.
“Doing so will restore trust in local government and extend the dividends of grassroots democracy. »
