A 'crisis team' will be introduced at this year's Oscars, to handle any real-time incidents in response to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock during the ceremony of 2022.
Academy general manager Bill Kramer told Time magazine that the new unit had "executed many scenarios" in the hope they would be "prepared for anything".
"Through the last year we have opened our minds to the many things that can happen at the Oscars" , he said.
They are now faster to respond, he said.
Academy President Janet Yang previously said the response to Smith's altercation with Rock was not fast enough.
Smith slapped comedian after making joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's bald head, which she shaved after being diagnosed with alopecia . After returning to his seat, the actor repeatedly shouted, "Keep my wife's name out of your [expletive]" at Rock.
Despite the incident, he remained at the ceremony and went on to receive the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in King Richard.
