The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) has reported how APC supporters in the state staged a solidarity march in support of the party's presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.

Mr. Lamidi, popularly known as the Auxiliary, is the Chairman of the Discipline Committee of the Parks Management System (PMS) in Oyo State.

NAN reports that Mr. Lamidi, who was driving a Lexus SUV alongside 10 other vehicles on the Total Garden-Yemetu road, allegedly attacked APC members around the Labiran Junction in Ibadan.

Mr. Folarin said Mr. Lamidi allegedly led his gang to launch an attack on APC members who were organizing a peaceful solidarity march in support of their presidential candidate and his running mate.

The former Senate leader said the alleged attack that occurred during the march left several injured and hospitalized.

Reaction

Reacting, Emiola Jelili, the head of public relations for the PMS State, said the allegation against the president of the agency was not true

Mr. Jelili said no such thing happened and that Lamidi was not in or around Labiran at the time.

TEXEM Advert

He said PMS members had no reason to attack or interfere with opposition APC members, adding that they were exercising their constitutional right to hold a rally.

"The PMS reiterates for the umpteenth time that the opposition APC should stop dragging the Auxiliary into its crisis and internal affairs.

"And it has also become a habit of APC in Oyo State to always mention Auxiliary whenever they have an outing or event just to tarnish its image.

"Auxiliary has a life of its own to live, Oyo APC should keep its name low-key and face its campaign."

He said that PMS is committed to maintaining peace and order and to meeting its main tasks of managing the parks system in Oyo State. (NAN)
