Oyo organizes the first edition of the Omoluabi festival
Sons and daughters of Oyo State and other Yoruba land people traveled to witness the first edition of Oyo State Omoluabi Festival.
The festival organized by the Yoruba Council of Yoruba Youth of the World (YCYW) was held on Sunday at Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resorts, Ibadan
Always in its drive to promote culture, the Yoruba Council of Yoruba Youth of the World (YCYW), has honored Dr. Kazeem Akande and other eminent Nigerians for their contributions to the promotion of culture.
Speaking at the event, YCYW President Rahmon Alawode said the winner deserved to be awarded for demonstrating the cultural norms and values of the Yoruba land.
He said, "Today we gather here today to celebrate true Omoluabi in the Leader State, the purpose of establishing this program is to reward those who display the standards and the cultural value of an Omoluabi.
"Omoluabi is a Yoruba philosophical and cultural concept used to describe a person of good character."
On receiving the award, one of the winners, Dr. Kazeem Akande appreciated the organizer of the event as he promised to continue upholding Yoruba culture.
