Peter Obi becomes MC, traffic controller in Calabar

Labour Party LP presidential candidate Mr Peter Obi was the emcee when the party held its campaign in Cross River State on Wednesday.

He apologized for having to take the microphone as he felt he had unduly made the rowdy crowd wait too long at UJ Esuene Stadium due to his many commitments during the day.

At the end of the 30-minute campaign, the surging crowd prevented his motorcade from leaving the stadium. The LP candidate then got out of his jeep to implore the crowd who were quick to touch him. He left the motorcade, breaking protocol, to control traffic, and then gave the DSS and police details attached to him a Herculean task to protect himself and his team.

The DSS agents then formed a circle around him. The surging crowd, made up mainly of young people, was delighted as they were very happy to move alongside him.

LP State Chairman Ogar Osim said it was good for the presidential candidate to move around to control the crowd, otherwise he would not have been able to meet other commitments.
