Police arrest informants, truck carrying food to terrorists in Zamfara
Police in Zamfara State stopped a truck loaded with foodstuffs being transported to bandits operating in the Dangulbi area of Maru local government.
In a statement signed Wednesday by Zamfara State Police Command spokesman Mohammed Shehu, police also arrested eight bandit informants and recovered four rifles, 250 rounds of AK 47 live ammunition and nine cattle stolen.
Medicines recoveredThe truck driver was arrested while transporting food to the bandits operating in the Maru, Anka and Gusau areas of the Dangulbi – Magami forest.
"Hard drugs including Penta injections, tramadol tablets, chloroquine injections, exzol tablets and cartons of beer were also found in the truck. There were also two sets of packaging said the police spokesperson.
Mr. Shehu said the informants were arrested in separate operations across the state.
Some recovered weapons from suspects . Two people, Hauwa Usman and Aliyu Mamuda, were arrested in Munhaye forest in Tsafe. They allegedly confessed to providing food to the bandits operating in the Munhaye forest.
The police spokesperson said the remaining informants were arrested in communities in Gusau and Maru local government areas.
Two suspects, Musa Umar and Idris Yaro, were arrested with nine stolen cows along Magami and Wanke roads in Gusau region.
