Singer Harry Okiri popularly known as Harrysong has been arrested by police in Lagos State.

In a post to his Instagram Story on Tuesday, Harrysong said he was arrested when he landed in the state.

The laconic statement signed by his management indicates that the singer's phone was seized at the time of the arrest.

The message read, "I was arrested as I landed in Lagos. My phone was seized and they are not allowing me to communicate with my people."

This comes barely a week after Harrysong accused music manager Soso Soberekon of trying to kill him.

In a talk show published last Monday, Harrysong identified Soberekon as his enemy who had attempted to assassinate him (Harrysong).

Reacting to the accusation, Soberekon, through his lawyers, sent a defamation notice to Harrysong, where he demanded 500 million naira as compensation.

The notice read in part: "Our client has therefore requested that we request a retraction of said publication and an apology to publish in two newspapers and several online news outlets no later than seven days after the delivery of this letter and also the payment of the sum of N500,000,000.00 (Five Hundred Million Naira) as damages and compensation for malicious postings made against our client.

"TAKE NOTICE that if you do not comply with our client's request within seven days of receipt of this letter, we will be compelled to sue you for exemplary damages for abusive falsehood and publication made by and about our client.”

Harrysong's arrest may have something to do with the lawsuit, as today (Tuesday) marks the expiration of the singer's seven-day ultimatum.
