Roy Keane 'unconvinced' by Man Utd after 'cushy' start for Ten Hag at Old Trafford

Roy Keane has explained why he is 'unconvinced' by Manchester United despite their brilliant start under Erik ten Hag.

The Red Devils have now won seven games in a row, the latest being the 3-1 victory over Everton in the FA Cup which took them safely to the fourth round.

Ten Hag has also pushed his side to Champions League qualification in the Premier League after a nightmarish start to the season, but Keane says the real tests of the team are yet to come.

"They're on a roll and they've been unbeaten recently, but they haven't really faced anyone," Keane told ITV, despite United having beaten Arsenal and Liverpool this season.

"They have Man City in a few weeks and Arsenal, of course.

"But I'm still not convinced, I think the problems are still there behind, I'm not convinced with the goalkeeper [David de Gea]. They're better, obviously, than last year - that's not "Wouldn't have been difficult. [Cristiano] Ronaldo's situation has been cleared up, which I'm sure will help the situation, but, again, I think they had some cushy games to experience."

Keane took aim at De Gea after the game, saying it looked like the goalkeeper had been drinking.

"It's a shocking mistake on the part of an international goalkeeper," Keane lamented, after often criticizing the Spaniard. "It's like 'Carry On' football. It looks like he's had a few drinks. It's a shocking mistake. It's almost as if a goalkeeper was sent off and an outfield player walked in. goal and didn't know what to do. It's a horrible mistake."

Ten Hag was impressed with his side's and Everton's performance on Friday night.

"It was really competitive, both teams played each other, it was a good pace," said Ten Hag. “I think the public is the big winner of this cup game. It was thrilling to watch.

"Lots of pace, lots of chances for both teams and I'm glad we won that game, I think it was also justified. I think their (Everton) performance was really good. They played really brave, on the front foot, going forward, and that's why I think the crowd had the perfect game.

"It was a good show. It was fun. And again, we're happy to have won, but I think Everton's performance was also good."
