Salvador abandons APC for Labor and obtains a government ticket

An All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, Moshood Salvador, has collapsed his political group, Conscience Forum, into the Labor Party (LP), where he is the party's gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State .

Salvador, former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had defected to the APC in Lagos ahead of the 2019 general elections along with members of his group in all three senatorial constituencies in the state.

During his official statement for the LP yesterday, Salvador said he joined the APC because the previous party was not ready to win the elections in Lagos.

He said: "Unfortunately, APC is not an inclusive party. My people did not enjoy the party. APC promised my staff 100 jobs each at the Traffic Management Agency of Lagos State (LASTMA), Lagos Waste Management Agency (LAWMA) and Neighborhood Watch.

“They also promised to give us commissioner and special adviser positions but none were fulfilled. They kicked my people out of neighborhood meetings, local government and state. »

He said the attitude of the APC spurred him and his supporters to join the Labor Party.

“The Labor Party has given my people the opportunity to become party candidates at different levels.

"About a month ago I was approached by members of the Labor Party to put me forward as a candidate for the governorship of the party in Lagos State. I am confident of victory in the forthcoming elections, Labor has begun and our victory will cross the whole country,” he added.

On his chances of winning Lagos State with bigger parties such as the APC and PDP also in contention, Salvador said, “We all know that the people of Lagos have rejected the APC. I tell you that the members of the APC Conscience Forum are more than 300,000. Those whom we met at the party are suffering and smiling. They do not have the well-being of the party at heart, because they have been used and abandoned."

Labour Party National Vice President Alhaji Bashiru Lamidi Apapa called on members to help Salvador win the upcoming elections.

“Welcome him to the Labor Party. The party is family and the only place where people will have progress. You have to work for the success of the party because the people you are going to face have stolen so much. S 'they give you money that you can't resist, collect and vote against them anyway because it's your money and we have to send them packing.

"Get your permanent voter card (PVC) if you haven't already. Don't stay home during campaigns, get out and participate. The party's national publicity secretary, Arabambi Abayomi, urged members to support the party and ensure they campaign for all candidates, stressing that the Labor Party is the best platform to kick looters out of the corridors of power and eradicate slavery and poverty of the company.

"It is a pleasing and divine intervention of God that the LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is inclined and committed to good governance, a factor that will enhance the best political benefits and expectations of the State of Lagos and Nigeria."
