Sanwo-Olu mourns his assistant who died in a car accident

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has mourned the passing of his Principal Special Assistant for Higher Education, Youth and Student Affairs, Omotayo Sanyaolu, who passed away on Friday.

Mr. Sanyaolu, who was the former youth leader of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), died after his involvement in a car crash in Lagos.

The accident is believed to have occurred in the Maryland area of ​​the state.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a condolence message issued by his chief press officer, Gboyega Akosile, on Friday expressed his condolences to the family of Mr. Sanyaolu, whom he described as a "loyal collaborator, committed, hardworking and dedicated to the Greater Lagos agenda."

The Governor said the death of Mr. Sanyaolu was a personal loss to him and the Lagos State Government, as well as to the deceased family, friends, Lagos APC and higher education institutions in the state.

"The death of a loved one is usually painful because it cannot be repaired, but we have to thank God that Omotayo Sanyaolu had a positive impact during his short but eventful life. He served our party, the APC, with passion and merit as a youth leader and contributed to his victory in numerous elections.

"Tayo, as Special Assistant for Higher Education, Youth and Student Affairs, has been instrumental in the Greater Lagos program. He has contributed positively to issues affecting youth and students in the state.

"I sympathize with his widow, children, siblings, friends and all the family as well as with Lagos State and the APC family. I pray that God grants the late Omotayo Sanyaolu rest forever and grant the family the courage to bear the irreparable loss. Tayo will be missed."
