Senate Speaker Congratulates Nigerian Christians on Easter
Senate Speaker Ahmad Lawan offered his heartfelt congratulations to Christians in Nigeria as they join their brothers around the world in remembrance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
>As they mark the great occasion of Easter, Lawan urged the Christian faithful to reflect on the significance of the season.
The President of the Senate said that as they celebrate Easter for Jesus' victory over death on the cross and his resurrection which revives the hope of eternal life, they should also pray for peace and prosperity of Nigeria.
He said the occasion should bolster hope for their nation's triumph over its current nation-building challenges and the imminence of better days ahead.
He also urged all Nigerians, especially religious leaders and clerics, to pray for a peaceful political transition in Nigeria.
Lawan also called for prayers for God's blessings and guidance for incoming governments at the national and state levels, including the 10th National Assembly and soon-to-be-inaugurated National Assemblies.
