Seven arrested for raising false alarm about 'missing male organs' in Kwara

The Kwara State Police Command has arrested and charged seven men over allegations of false alarms about stolen male organs in Ilorin, the state capital.

Okasanmi Ajayi, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the State Police Command, said that three such incidents were recorded in the Okeogun area of ​​Tanke, Ilorin, between Monday, July 17, 2023 and Thursday.

The command spokesman said those arrested included one person who gave the false alarm and six people who were allegedly involved in jungle justice.

He also said that three people accused of stealing male organs were nearly lynched were it not for the quick action of the police and those around them.

However, he said that "in the three alarms raised, all three boys were taken to hospital, tested and all found their private organs to be in perfect condition."

The command, which reminded residents of the state that jungle justice is punishable by law, advised people to avoid getting involved.

“The Kwara State Police Command wishes to inform and sensitize the good people of Kwara State in general and Tanke/Oke-Odo area in particular about the recent uproar and attack by some unscrupulous elements who have falsely accused members of the public of stealing their manhood.

“Three of these incidents were recorded in the Okeogun area of ​​Tanke between Monday, July 17, 2023 and today. In the three alarms raised, the three boys were taken to hospital, tested and all were found to have their private organs in perfect condition.

"The mischievous suspects who triggered the false alarm have already been charged in court.

"Therefore, Kwara State Police Commissioner, CP Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, psc+FISN, wishes to warn these bad guys to stop these false alarms of private organ theft or risk arrest and prosecution, while advising members of the public to beware of the antics of these false alarmists and to report any such incidents to the police.

"This statement is also meant to remind people that justice in the jungle is punishable by law; therefore, good people in Kwara State are advised to please avoid getting involved.
