Skimzo wins Naija Star Search talent competition and receives N5m star award
After three months of drama, intrigue and electrifying performances by contestants of Nigeria's premier Afrobeats competition and talent hunt show, 'Naija Search Talent', Skimzo emerged victorious.
The Top 3 finalists were Skimzo, Melo and Eniola. Skimzo battled for the winning prize of 5 million naira, while 1st runner-up Eniola got 3 million naira and 2nd runner-up Melo won 2 million naira.
Skimzo, the modest and talented budding star in the making, defeated Eniola and Melo in the grand finale and three other contestants, Khaleed, Black Bella and Kachi, who returned to the show based on audience votes and judges.< /p>
The Naija Star Search Talent Hunt started with over 17 contestants and had judges and coaches like Kenny Keke Ogungbe, ID Cabasa and Asha Gangali who helped hone contestants' skills as they battled for the final.
The finalists delivered impressive performances that amazed the judges.
Skimzo, however, managed to edge out his competitors with a powerful performance that earned him most of the votes.
Naija Star Search is a competition created to discover new musical talents capable of disrupting the Afrobeats scene and becoming the next music star.
The judges told the contestants that they were looking for the originality, street credibility and creativity that could propel them onto the world stage. The judges worked with them, offering mentorship to polish their original songs.
