Violation of social media policy: Police suspend supernumerary officers in viral Tiktok video

Nigeria Police have suspended two supernumerary police officers, Obaze Blessing and Obaze Emmanuella Uju, for dishonorable conduct and violation of social media policy.

The officers, also biological sisters, have come into the spotlight after TikTok videos of them sexy in their uniforms and bikinis went viral two weeks ago.

The problems started on August 3 when the younger sister shared different sexy photos with her older sister, stating that she missed her on the TikTok account.

The videos went viral two weeks ago after they were posted on Twitter and Instagram.

Subsequently, their TikTok following grew as they gained over 500,000 TikTok followers overnight.

The TikTok account no longer exists.

The first photo she shared saw them posing outside a police station while wearing the all-black police uniform. In another photo, the ladies wore bikinis as they had a great time at the beach.

The officers have been suspended with immediate effect, the force's public relations officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said in a statement on Friday.

The force described the breach as a breach of the provisions of the Police Act 2020 and the Nigeria Police Supernumerary Police Recruitment/Promotion/Discipline (SPY) Guidelines 2013 by the Inspector General of Police.
