Southwest has nothing to do to run for president, says Imasuangbon

The leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Mr. Kenneth Imasuangbon, said yesterday that the party's presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has the ability to rebuild Nigeria economically and politically, claiming that the South West candidate has nothing to do to contest the 2023 presidential elections.

Expressing his support for the former vice president in the 2023 presidential election, Imansuagbon, in a statement in Benin City, urged Nigerians to believe in Abubakar's presidency just as he warned Nigerians against repeating the mistakes of 2015.

He said, "I have known Atiku for a long time. The man is clean and passionate about Nigeria. He is also a true democrat. He doesn't talk much. He is a mastermind. He is decisive and loves the country. He's the kind of person the country needs right now.

“A man who can build a university is not a small person. Does the APC candidate have a university? He is just there collecting taxes in Lagos State.

"Presidency of Nigeria is for a pan-Nigerian and a patriot like Atiku. Atiku has been in business. From customs to business, from there to vice president and back to business. He knows the country inside and out. full."

On the zoning of the Presidency, he said that it was the turn of the North because since 1999 until today, the South has had the Presidency more than the North. According to him, Yar'Adua was only two and a half years old and if you add that to Buhari's eight years, it is 10 and a half years; while Obasanjo did eight years and Jonathan almost six years, that is 14 years.

"Then let the North finish its turn. Even if it's the South's turn, definitely, the Southwest has nothing to contest. It should have been either the Southeast or the Southwest. south. So fairness and justice demand that the North end its turn."
