Speeding truck crashes into car and kills one in Ogun

A high-speed truck ran into a car along Abeokuta-Ota Road, killing one person instantly.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said the crash happened around 10:29 p.m. around Eruku, involving an Iveco container truck registered LAR654YD and a Peugeot car without registration.

FRSC spokesperson in Ogun, Florence Okpe, explained that two adult males were involved in the accident, saying that "one person was killed and the other was uninjured".

Okpe said, "the suspected cause of the accident was excessive speed, which caused the truck to lose control when it crashed into the car."

She added that FRSC officers were on the ground handling the situation, saying a crane had been contacted to lift the container from the car so the trapped body could be removed.
