Sunday with Vernon Kay: "I have a ridiculous number of stupid hobbies"

Are you up early? I like to sleep in, but after 10 a.m. it's excessive. I like to do a lot of things, because as soon as it's noon, it's the countdown to bed.

Sunday breakfast? We love brunches – scrambled eggs, mushrooms, lots of bacon. Not for Tess [Daly, Kay's wife], though. She will always have a vegetarian sausage, which she likes.

Family activities? This usually involves our two dogs - a Maltese Shih Tzu called Micky and a Chihuahua called Blue. We also have cattle on the farm next to us, so we check on them and then maybe go to a pub for lunch with some friends.

What are you eating ? If I had a big breakfast I would go for the chicken, otherwise it's pork with all the trimmings. Don't leave anything in the kitchen, take everything out: sauce, yorkies, cabbage, carrots, turnips, rutabaga. Putting everything on my plate.

Sunday cleaning? As a former goalkeeper, I know a chamois well. I put it away on Sunday. After university I couldn't find work so I deep cleaned schools and covered for sick caretakers in the metropolitan borough of Bolton.

Sunday afternoon? I have a ridiculous number of stupid hobbies. I fly radio-controlled planes. I kinda like paintball. Never let age overshadow you when it comes to extracurricular activities.

Sunday dinner room? Tess makes a super sandwich with chunky slices of a la mode bread and loads it with toppings. There's not a square millimeter to lose.

Relaxing Sunday? When the NFL season starts, I'm a big fantasy football player, so I'm glued to Sky or my iPad. This has been the basis of many debates. Tess is like, "Please turn it off for 10 minutes", but anything can happen in 10 minutes.

Sundays growing up? Just the fear of going back to school – I wasn't very good at homework. Sunday nights were all about The Wonder Years, then NFL on Channel.

Last thing before bed? Ablutions, of course! I clean my teeth four times a day - I'm obsessed. If I can't fall asleep, I play 18 holes around my favorite golf course in my head, and I'm done.
