Supreme Court, Ministry of Education, 50 more at 'high corruption risk' - CIPC

The Independent Commission on Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses (ICPC) has found the Supreme Court and 51 other government institutions to pose a "high risk of corruption".

“The objective of deploying EICS in MDAs is to reduce the risk of corruption, abuse of the system and revive standards of ethics and integrity in government offices while ensuring a good service delivery.

The methodology assesses MDAs based on key ethics and compliance indicators in three broad categories: management culture and structure, financial management systems, and administrative systems, each carrying a total of 100 points, which is represented as a percentage.

According to the ICPC, the assessment exercise complies with section 6(b)-(d) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Act 2000.

ICPC said it will continue its efforts to improve probity, accountability and openness in the public sector.
