Terrorists release 35 kidnap victims in Kaduna community

Thirty-five residents kidnapped by bandits in Millenium City settlement, Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State have been released.

We learned that the victims had been received by the inhabitants of the commune on Friday.

It was further established that 2.5 million naira each was paid as a ransom before the 35 hostages could be released.

However, our correspondent understood that one victim was still in the custody of the bandits simply because his family had not yet settled the bandits' request to buy two motorcycles for them.

According to an eyewitness, among the freed victims are a doctor and fifteen other hostages taken by the bandits last month.

The head of the community's civilian joint task force, Uwasu Yunusa, who confirmed the release of the kidnapped victims, did not say whether or not the ransom had been paid.
