'The Blacklist': How James Spader's drama ended after 10 seasons

Season 10 kicked off in March with Reddington facing "unprecedented danger" because of former Blacklisters united against him in a deadly desire for revenge. The two-hour series finale began with Reddington on the run, with the Strike Force team and vengeful Congressman Arthur Hudson (Toby Leonard Moore) trying to locate the elusive criminal-turned-FBI informant.

At the end of the first episode, Reddington comes face to face with Hudson and kills him after the Congressman put a bullet through Reddington's bodyguard-turned-agent, Dembe Zuma (Hisham Tawfiq). Reddington managed to bring Dembe to a nursing home for treatment before continuing his quest to flee the country.

At the start of the second hour titled "Goodnight", the task force again attempts to locate Reddington while Special Agent Jordan Nixon (Derrick Williams) swears to avenge the congressman's death by killing Reddington himself. This leads to a heated match between Nixon and assistant director Harold Cooper (Henry Lennix) because, well, tough guys have to be tough guys in times of crisis.

Reddington, meanwhile, lands in Spain, where he buys fruit and vegetables at a local market and makes a last call to his granddaughter Agnès (Sami Bray). He also takes the time to check on Dembe, who later learns from Harold that he would lose his job. Dembe doesn't seem to care but he gets poetic about his old friend.

The strike team continues to stay one step behind Reddington, whose final moments are spent in a scenic drive in the countryside. He comes face to face with a drooling bull, who studies Reddington with interest before rushing towards him in slow motion.

The camera cuts to a helicopter landing in the field with Strike Force's Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) on advice. He sees Reddington curled up in a bloody ball, his body lifeless.

Reddington is finally dead.
