Three arrested for car theft in Ogun

Ogun State Police arrested three men for allegedly stealing a car in Abeokuta.

The suspected car thieves were identified by Ogun State Police Spokesperson Abimbola Oyeyemi as Moses Adewale Abiodun, Seyi Oyenekan and Monsuru Majekodunmi.

Oyeyemi said he was apprehended on November 9, following a report filed at Oke-Itoku police station by an Olusesi Akingbile who reported that his Toyota Carina E car registration AAB 576 TF, parked in his house in Ijemo on October 12, 2022, had been robbed by unknown persons.

After the report, Oyeyemi told reporters on Saturday that messages had been sent to all police formations in Ogun, asking them to be on the lookout for the missing car.

The police spokesman said the stolen car was seen on November 9 in a village of mechanics along Ajebo road, by police officers attached to Kemta division while on patrol routine.

"The car was quickly intercepted and Moses Adewale Abiodun, who was with the car, was quickly apprehended," he said.

He further explained that the police, during preliminary investigations, discovered that the suspect had two other accomplices.

“The other two were found and arrested, while another Blue Carina E car registered AAA 565 GJ, suspected to have been stolen, was recovered from them,” DAILY POST learned.

Meanwhile, Ogun Police Commissioner Lanre Bankole has ordered a full investigation of the suspects before they are brought to justice.
