Three dead in Bauchi police, shootout between kidnappers

Two suspected kidnappers and a vigilante were killed in a shootout with a team of security officers in Toro Local Government Area, Bauchi State.

He added that upon receiving the information, the divisional police officer mobilized his men and the vigilante to pursue the suspects.

According to him, the team intercepted the suspected kidnappers at Doka Auwalu Mountain in Toro LGA, and engaged them in a shootout that killed two of them (kidnappers), adding that it was in the process that one of the self-defense members was also killed.

He said three kidnapped victims were rescued by the team unharmed.

The police spokesperson said: "As part of our commitment to suppressing criminal elements, on August 27, 2022 at approximately 9:00 p.m., credible intelligence available at Tulu Divisional Police Headquarters on the activities of the kidnappers alleged, that on August 26, 2022, alleged kidnappers blocked the Tulu-Rishi road.
