Transfer: I rejected several clubs to join Rangers - Dessers
Cyriel Dessers has revealed he turned down offers from Italian, Belgian and Dutch clubs to sign for Scottish side Rangers.
Dessers joined Gers from Serie B side Cremonese in a deal worth €4m last week.
The 28-year-old spent just one season at Cremonese, scoring seven times in 29 league appearances.
The Nigerian international arrived at Ibrox with a good reputation, having won the top scorer award two seasons ago in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
The striker had several options on the table after deciding to leave Cremonese following the club's relegation last season, but was attracted to former Scottish Premiership champions Rangers.
“Of course I had a few options to stay in Italy, there were also other options in Belgium and the Netherlands. I don't think it's smart to name the clubs here,” said Dessers at a press conference on Tuesday.
"Rangers are huge and I like what's going on here, the group, the players already there and the manager who has a very good idea of what he wants on and off the pitch is fundamental for me ."
