Former Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo congratulated President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima on their victory in the Presidential Election Claims Tribunal.
Osinbajo, in a statement on his official Facebook page, described the court's verdict as “a great victory for Nigeria's constitutional democracy and rule of law”.
He said: "Congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima and our great party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the judicial confirmation of the victory in the presidential election of February 25, 2023 .
“This decision is a great victory for Nigeria’s constitutional democracy and the rule of law. The practice of democracy in our nation was further strengthened by the fact that all parties faithfully followed the electoral process in accordance with the law and relied on our courts in the event of a dispute.
“Our nation now needs us all to work together to meet our challenges and realize our nation's incredible potential. »
Vanguard reported that the five-member panel headed by Judge Haruna Tsammani rejected petitions submitted by the People's Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar; the Labor Party and its candidate, Peter Obi; and confirmed the victory of President Tinubu in the February 25 elections.
