Two killed, several injured as street boys clash in Ajegunle, Lagos

As many as two people were reportedly killed on Friday in a deadly attack involving street boys in Ajegunle, a densely populated community in the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area of ​​Lagos State.< /p>

Several other people were also reportedly seriously injured and many lost property during the scuffle as fighters fought with cutlasses, axes, clubs and other dangerous weapons.

Reliable sources told Saturday Tribune that Friday's brawl was a retaliation for the Monday July 10 attack between rival street boys from Alayabiagba Street and the Ogbowankwo axis of the community.

The source, who said people were still in a panic in the area as of 6:00 p.m., noted that street fights between Ajegunle boys are commonplace and mostly deadly, with police officers from the region, most of the time, unable to tame them.

A police officer from nearby Ajeromi Police Station confirmed the incident, on condition of anonymity, to the Saturday Tribune, noting that peace had been restored to the area and that police would open an investigation to bring to justice all those linked to the crisis.
